Why Are There So Many Kinds Of Carbon Fiber Plates?
The carbon fiber plate comes in so many variations that it can be used for a variety of applications. When you need light and strong carbon fiber plates, they are an excellent substitute for aluminum plates. High temperature plates are good to 400°F and unidirectional plates are extra stiff in one direction.
Carbon fiber composite sheets are manufactured using both compression molding and vacuum infusion techniques, utilizing carbon fiber fabric combined with epoxy resin or carbon fiber prepreg. During compression molding, the carbon fiber prepreg is placed into a mold, then heated under pressure using large hydraulic presses. The sheets are cured according to a specific curing cycle and produced in various dimensions.
The Vacuum Infusion technique employs vacuum pressure to draw resin into a laminate. Dry carbon fiber layers are arranged within the mold, and vacuum is applied before introducing the resin. Once a full vacuum is established, the resin is drawn directly into the carbon fiber layers.

Quasi-isotropic plates are engineered to handle loads from multiple directions, making them well-suited for torsional and off-axis stresses. Our quasi-isotropic plates consist of evenly distributed unidirectional carbon fiber prepreg arranged in the 0°, 90°, and ±45° orientations.
0°/ 90° (balanced)
This is the standard layup for carbon fiber plates, ideal for a wide range of applications. Balanced 0°/90° plates provide superior strength and stiffness along both the axial and transverse axes. Our 0°/90° plates are made from evenly distributed unidirectional carbon fiber prepreg aligned in the 0° and 90° directions.
